Welcome to the Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 Summer Learning Institute. Along with the District's commitment to meeting or exceeding state standards, we hope that the extended learning opportunities will support and challenge students. Exciting, stimulating, entertaining, and rewarding educational experiences are planned for students participating in the Summer Learning Institute.
SLI's day is from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students will participate in daily English Math and Language Arts courses, along with two elective courses. Elective courses will be rotated weekly, ensuring students experience at least one week of each elective course during the Summer Learning Institute, per the master schedule. Post Elective courses offered: STEM, Art, Physical Education, and Music. Town Elective courses offered: STEM, Art, Physical Education, Music, and Essential Skills.
If students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, SLI's registration fees will be reduced at checkout.
Attendance: The Summer Learning Institute offers a valuable educational experience. Due to the brevity of the SLI, students are expected to attend the entire session. Students may be absent for two days. On the third absence, the student may be expelled from the class. Please be aware of attendance requirements when enrolling students in SLI.
Behavior - Expectations for behavior and attitude are the same as during the regular school year. Parents will be notified of any behavior that detracts from the teaching/learning experience. If behavior that is detrimental to teaching and learning persists, it can result in the removal of the SLI. No refunds will be given to students who are expelled for disciplinary or attendance violations.
Log in to the Parent Portal (Infinite Campus) to find your student's ID number. Once on Infinite Campus click on "TODAY", the ID number will be below the student's name. If you need help resetting your Parent Portal, please call the Help Desk at 719-382-1608.
Participants from other districts will be charged a surcharge, please call 719-382-1545 if you are out of district and would like to apply for SLI.
